This initiative of the UNESCO Chair "Water Women and Decision Making" (CUEFPOD) will begin in October 2019. Its objective will be to consolidate Côte d'Ivoire's stability gains for the preservation of peace and inclusive, equitable development. and sustainable for the emergence of the country.
For the coordinator of the national program of the compendium of women's competences of Ivory Coast, Euphrasie Yao, the Ivorian context calls for the duty. According to the woman who also holds the UNESCO Chair in Women's Water and Decision-Making, Côte d'Ivoire must count on women leaders because they are able to meet the challenges that will come their way. The implementation of this project is therefore a compass for these women in their approach.
Thus, nearly 500 women identified in rural and peri-urban areas will be responsible for promoting peace through this initiative. For Euphrasie Yao, it is the involvement of all women, each with their specific potential, that will make this process successful.
For his part, the special representative of the president of the commission of the African Union (AU) in Côte d'Ivoire, Josephine Charlotte Mayuma reiterated the support of her institution in the implementation of this project. Action that she believes should serve as an example in Africa. The statement made by the representative of the AU is that, on the continent, about 20 of the 54 countries in Africa suffer from conflict problems. She urged everyone to behave in a way that preserves peace.
Gräce Hazoulé, representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), spoke of the importance of the role that women can play in the maintenance of peace. Then returning to Ivorian news, she urged Ivorians to preserve peace gains with the involvement of everyone.
